A: It is true that technically coconut oil is a saturated fat, however, not all fats react the same in the body. Coconut oil is made up of MEDIUM CHAIN FATTY ACIDS commonly referred to as MCFA's which are metabolized as energy in the body, fuel metabolic processes and actually lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise HDL or good cholesterol.

A: Most western trained medical professionals have little experience with the idea as food as medicine and simply follow old text book thinking, especially about fats and their true function in the body.

A: Coconut oil has amazing properties for health and cosmetics. See our section on the BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL for just a sampling of what coconut oil can do for you.
A: You gain weight when your average daily caloric intake exceeds your average activity levels. But, it's important to remember that calories are a measure of heat energy, NOT FAT. Changing your eating habits to real, nutrient dense food will stimulate the metabolism and boost your energy. To that effect coconut oil acts a catalyst to boost metabolism, aid the absorption of vital fats and vitamins WITHOUT making you gain weight as most of the fats and high calorie nutrient deficient foods do.
A: Try different coconut oils.  Some have a strong coconut flavor while others do not.  Our coconut oil does not have a strong coconut flavor - it has a very light coconut flavor and taste which is very hard to detect once you have cooked with it.  Because I use coconut oil in so much of my cooking, I do not like the strong coconut flavor.  There is no need to have your scrambled eggs taste like coconut.

A: Yes, I would highly recommend that.  Coconut oil is one of the only oils that does not break down when heated therefore it is the optimum oil to use.
